While there are many paper specifications there are 3 main types used for our Cash Register and Eftpos Roll products. These are:
Single Ply Paper Rolls
Thermal Paper Rols
Carbonless Paper Rolls
Single Ply:
This paper is manufactured here in Australia from High Quality virgin wood pulp. The image on the top copy is normally achieved by a ink ribbon that feeds through the printer mechanism.
Thermal Paper:
Thermal Paper is coated with a heat sensitive coating which reacts with the thermally heated print head in the printer mechanism. To identify thermal paper simply run your finger nail across the surface and the heat generated by the friction will cause a black line.
Carbonless:
Primarily used for 2-ply rolls. The paper is coated with micro capsules that create a duplicate image on the second layer of paper. The image on the top copy is normally achieved by a ink ribbon that feeds through the printer mechanism.
How to Measure your Roll? Rolls are measured Width x Diameter X Core (internal measurement) All our cores are a standard 12mm.
